Paeonia daurica ssp. mlokosewitschii, commonly known as the Woodland Peony, is a perennial plant native to the Caucasus. It forms clumps of glaucous green foliage, reaching 18 inches tall and 3 feet wide. The plant produces bright yellow flowers in early April, followed by black and red seed pods in August. It grows well in part or full sun and is drought-tolerant, making it a resilient addition to gardens.
