Description:

Aloiampelos tenuior is an upright, gangly species from the dry regions of the Eastern Cape and southern KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. It typically reaches 2 feet tall but can grow up to 9 feet in warmer winters. The plant is topped with stalks of yellow or orange flowers starting in November and can survive mild winters down to 17 degrees Fahrenheit. It must be kept dry during winter months, making it suitable for xeriscaping and rock gardens.
