Zephyranthes 'New Dimension'

Family: Amaryllidaceae, Genus: Zephyranthes

Description:

Zephyranthes 'New Dimension' is a unique amaryllis with peachy-pink petals and a bright yellow throat, often featuring more than the typical six petals. It thrives in sunny locations, responding to rain with a burst of blooms, and is winter-hardy in zones 7 and warmer. This low-maintenance plant can be grown in pots where not winter-hardy and prefers average moisture. The bulbs should be planted with about an inch of soil on top and may need resetting when crowded. It is easy to grow from seed, germinating in a week, and can bloom in a few years if kept in a frost-free environment. The foliage can be removed once it turns brown, and more sun results in more flowers. Zephyranthes is ideal for gardens with average moisture and can be a delightful addition to rain gardens or sunny borders.
