Description:
This temperate floating or rooting plant, native to the slow-moving waters of North America, resembles a miniature waterlily. It forms floating heart-shaped leaves and feeds heavily on nutrients in the water, removing nitrogen and potassium. It is a fast-growing perennial that can be invasive in warm climates but is easier to control than duckweed. It thrives in full to partial sun and prefers a pH of 6.5-7.5.
