Description:
Lagerstroemia indica is a deciduous shrub with large clusters of purple flowers that bloom from summer to fall. Its leaves transition from bronze in spring to green in summer and red/yellow in fall. This plant grows 10-20 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide, attracting hummingbirds, dragonflies, and butterflies. It is deer-resistant, drought-tolerant once established, and performs best in full sun with well-drained soil.
