Description:
Oxalis bowiei, native to the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, is a clumping plant with glossy-green, shamrock-like leaves and cherry-pink flowers that bloom from late October. This plant emerges from dormancy in the fall and continues flowering for several months, with foliage going dormant in late spring. It is known for its ability to attract butterflies and its non-invasive growth habit, making it a suitable choice for gardens in various climates. Oxalis bowiei is also naturalized in Australia and is named after the plant collector James Bowie.
