Description:
Cornus amomum, also known as silky dogwood, is a native deciduous shrub that can reach a mature height of 6-8 feet. It features greenish-white flower clusters in spring and berry-like drupes that turn blue in fall. This shrub is an important host plant for Azure butterflies and provides winter browse for deer and rabbits. Thriving in moist areas, it is adaptable to full sun and full shade, making it suitable for hedgerows, windbreaks, and erosion control.
