Description:
Native to the American Southwest and Mexico, this upright, bushy succulent shrub has colorful, round, ovate, fleshy pads that turn rich purple in winter and soft blue-gray with warmer temperatures. It produces large multi-petalled yellow flowers in spring and edible purple fruits attractive to birds. The plant is frost-hardy, grows up to 6-8 feet tall and 8-10 feet wide, and is deer-resistant and drought-resistant.
