Nymphaea 'Mayla'

Family: Nymphaeaceae, Genus: Nymphaea

Description:

Nymphaea 'Mayla' is a hybrid water lily cultivar developed by Kirk Strawn in 1993, resulting from a cross between Nymphaea 'August Koch' and Nymphaea 'Crystal'. It features deep pink or magenta flowers with slightly pointed petals, growing up to 6 inches in diameter, and a sweet, pleasant fragrance. The leaves are green and circular, up to 8 inches in diameter. This relatively small water lily cultivar is a vigorous grower, forming a dense carpet of leaves, and prefers full sun to partial shade in a variety of water depths.
