Prunus persica 'Saturn'

Family: Rosaceae, Genus: Prunus

Description:

Prunus persica 'Saturn', also known as the donut peach, is a unique fruit tree with warm yellow skin and a red blush. Its freestone, creamy white flesh offers a juicy, sweet flavor with a hint of almond. This self-fertile variety produces large harvests and requires 300 chill hours, thriving in USDA zones 5-8. 'Saturn' is resistant to bacterial leaf spots but susceptible to late frosts. Originating in China and once reserved for Emperors, it was introduced to the US in the late 1800s. The tree prefers full sun and well-drained, fertile soil.
