Description:
Utricularia calycifida is a small to medium-sized terrestrial perennial native to northern South America. Known as a bladderwort, it features large, fleshy leaves with olive green and violet veins. The plant produces rosy violet flowers with a yellow and white throat throughout the year. It prefers sphagnum moss or sandy peat and requires a constantly moist environment, avoiding bright light. The bladders on the plant capture microorganisms, adding to its fascinating nature. Cultivars of this species are often named after H. P. Lovecraft characters.
