Description:
Mammillaria rhodantha ssp. mccartenii, also known as the Rainbow Pincushion or Powder Puff Cactus, is a solitary or slowly clumping cactus with deep purple-pink to red flowers. It blooms from spring to autumn and is easy to cultivate, requiring bright light and regular watering in summer. This cactus is frost-tolerant down to 25°F and can be propagated by seeds or offsets. It is native to Chile and grows to about 5 inches tall.
