Description:
This plant is widespread in Japan and was discovered in central Hokkaido at an elevation of 2,000 feet. It grows a 4-foot tall stalk of pinnate, boxelder-like foliage and wispy, astilbe-like plumes of white flowers. It thrives in moist, well-drained woodland soils and has been named one of the top 200 plants of the last 200 years by the Royal Horticultural Society.
