Description:
This small, non-aggressive evergreen vine has finger-sized leaves and is native to woodlands in Southern China. It occurs from 1,000' to 10,000' elevation and produces small yellow, pendulous flowers in late spring, followed by thumb-sized bright red fruits from mid-summer through fall. Chemicals from the stems show activity against HIV.
