Description:
This summer-growing species has creamy-white flowers with a dull red throat and requires regular watering during the summer while being kept dry in winter. It can tolerate extremely bright conditions but prefers filtered sunlight or afternoon shade. The plant is hardy to -12°C for short periods and can bronze in strong light, which encourages flowering and heavy spine production. It is susceptible to sun scorch or stunted growth in direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day.
