Dionaea muscipula 'Thundercat'

Family: Droseraceae, Genus: Dionaea

Description:

The Dionaea muscipula 'Thundercat' is a striking carnivorous plant known for its deep red traps and unique arching structure. It features widely spaced cilia that darken to a blood-red hue, making it a visually captivating addition to any collection. This plant thrives in full sun and requires a constant supply of distilled or purified water, sitting in at least two inches of it. It can withstand a wide range of temperatures, from freezing to 100°F, but needs a winter dormancy period from October to February. During dormancy, traps turn black and die back, and the plant should remain outdoors in full sun. If snow is present, it can be overwintered indoors on a sunny windowsill. The 'Thundercat' is a carefully selected cultivar, noted for its large traps and vibrant coloration.
