Vaccinium corymbosum 'Polaris' is a half-high hybrid blueberry known for its extreme cold hardiness. It produces medium-sized, light blue berries with a classic sweet flavor and a hint of acidity. The plant yields 3 to 8 pounds of fruit per season and features fragrant white flowers in spring, followed by a striking red-orange fall color. 'Polaris' performs well in containers and requires acidic soil with a pH of 5.5 or less. This blueberry variety was introduced in 1996 and is ideal for gardeners in colder climates.
