Description:

Berlandiera subacaulis, also known as the Florida greeneyes, is a North American perennial found exclusively in Florida. It features lemon yellow ray florets with red or maroon disc florets, emitting a fragrance reminiscent of milk chocolate. This plant grows in dry, sandy locations and forms a 2-foot wide clump of cutleaf grey-green foliage. It is the southern equivalent of the chocolate flower B. lyrata and is not tolerant of poorly drained soils.
