This rare Cryptocoryne species is endemic to the sandy river edges of West Malaysia and can grow submerged in aquariums or emersed in humid terrariums. The leaves are around 10 cm long, wider, and darker veined, and the plant relies heavily on its roots to absorb nutrients. Propagation is done by splitting the rhizome or cutting off new growth. It is a unique addition to any aquarium due to its specific habitat requirements and striking leaf appearance.
