Description:
An evergreen shrub, this plant has 3-6 inch long dark green, waxy foliage and white, lightly fragrant flowers. It produces red berries that ripen to almost black and is suitable for USDA zones 7-11. Growing to 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide at maturity, it is a fast grower, adding 1-2 feet per year, and is drought-tolerant once established. Pruning should be done after flowering in the fall.
