Description:

Parodia erinacea is a cactus native to Southern Brazil and Uruguay, forming a solitary, dark green, deeply-ribbed barrel shape. It grows up to 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide, producing bright yellow flowers in May and June. This cactus requires good drainage and is winter dormant, making it suitable for rock gardens and xeriscaping. It is frost tolerant down to 10.4°F and prefers light shade.
