Description:

Phemeranthus rugospermus is a rare, hardy succulent native to the United States, thriving in dry sandy soils and rock outcrops. This small plant reaches up to 10 inches in height and width, with fleshy, tubular leaves and a succulent stem. It is drought-tolerant and blooms with purple, five-petalled flowers in June and July, which open for a few hours each late afternoon. Its adaptability makes it suitable for rock gardens and xeriscaping.
