Aponogeton madagascariensis

Aponogeton madagascariensis, also known as the Madagascar lace plant, is an aquatic plant with distinctive skeletonized leaves. Native to Madagascar, it thrives in aquariums with quality lighting and nutrient-rich soil. The plant frequently flowers underwater, producing swallow-tailed white or yellowish blooms. It requires moderate care, including regular trimming and maintaining water circulation. This plant is sensitive to iron deficiency and prefers a pH between 5 and 7.5. Its lacy leaves and self-pollinating flowers make it a unique addition to aquascapes.

Aponogeton boivinianus

Aponogeton boivinianus is a tall-growing bulb plant from Madagascar, known for its broad, elongated leaves with a ruffled texture. It prefers cooler water and clean conditions, making it ideal for aquariums.

Aponogeton capuronii

Aponogeton capuronii is an aquatic plant native to southeastern Madagascar, known for its slightly leathery, dark olive-green leaves that can be bullate and undulate. It thrives in rivers with fast-flowing water and requires soft, weak acid water and a shaded location. The plant's inflorescence features white tepals and six stamens, adding a delicate touch to aquatic environments. Aponogeton capuronii does not require a specific rest phase, making it a low-maintenance choice for water gardens.

Aponogeton longiplumulosus
