Cardiocrinum giganteum

Cardiocrinum giganteum is the largest species of lily, native to the Himalayas, China, and Myanmar. It produces a towering 8-foot spike of fragrant, trumpet-shaped white flowers with a purple flush. The plant thrives in light shade or morning sun and prefers slightly moist soils.

Cardiocrinum giganteum var. yunnanense

Cardiocrinum giganteum var. yunnanense is a towering plant that can reach 10-12 feet tall, with open flowers marked by purple. Native to Yunnan, China, it takes about 7 years to flower and produces large, glossy, green, red-veined basal foliage. After flowering, it forms small offset bulbs and seeds.

Cardiocrinum cordatum

Cardiocrinum cordatum is a Japanese version of Cardiocrinum giganteum, known for its hardiness. It forms a green skunk cabbage-like rosette for three years before producing a 6-foot tall flowering stalk with green flowers. The bulb divides after flowering.
