Chrysosplenium macrophyllum
Chrysosplenium macrophyllum is a perennial plant related to saxifrage, native to China. It forms open rosettes of bergenia-shaped, hairy green leaves, reaching about 6 inches tall and 8 inches wide. In early spring, it produces panicles of unique, UFO-like flowers. The plant spreads through above-ground stolons, forming new rosettes, and prefers moist soil, making it suitable for shaded garden areas.
