Diphylleia grayi

Diphylleia grayi, also known as the skeleton flower, is a unique perennial native to the moist, wooded mountainsides of China and Japan. It features large, fuzzy, umbrella-like green leaves and delicate white flowers that turn translucent when wet, revealing their intricate structure. In late summer, the plant produces striking cobalt blue fruit. This plant thrives in cool, moist woodland environments and is related to the mayapple and fairy wing plants.
