Drimia maritima

Drimia maritima, commonly known as Red Squill or Sea Onion, is a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region. It grows from a large bulb and produces a rosette of dark green, leathery leaves that die away by fall, followed by a tall raceme of white or red-tinged flowers. This plant is adapted to rocky coastal habitats and has historical uses as a poison and medicinal remedy.
