Description:
Corylus avellana var. avellana, commonly known as Harry Lauder's walking stick, is a unique ornamental shrub with twisty grey stems and fuzzy green leaves that fall to reveal its distinctive structure. In late winter, it is adorned with dangling tan catkins. This plant can grow up to 10 feet tall and wide over 15 years and is grown on its own roots, preventing suckering from rootstocks.
