Description:
Selaginella willdenowii, also known as the Blue Spikemoss, is a unique plant with iridescent blue leaves that thrive in low to medium light conditions. Native to the rainforests of Malaysia and Thailand, it is adapted to grow under the dense canopy, making it ideal for shaded environments. This plant prefers moist conditions and moderate humidity, with a sprawling growth pattern that can reach up to 2 feet in height. Its deep roots and beautiful aerial roots make it a fascinating addition to terrariums. The blue sheen on its leaves is due to thin-film interference, which helps reduce sun damage. Although not suitable for aquariums, it can be rooted in moist Sphagnum moss for optimal growth.
