Description:

Eryngium ravenelii 'Charleston Blues' is a Southeast native plant forming a small basal rosette of 1-foot long linear leaves. It produces 30-inch tall flowering stalks with branched clusters of blue fuzzy, thumb-sized ball flower heads. This plant is critically imperiled in its native wetland alkaline habitat but is easy to grow in moist to average moisture soils.
